Our Company is an off shoot of Pittsley Lighting & Sound, which was the first business of it's kind in the Greater Rockford Area. Started in 1959 to provide professional stage lighting to the live entertainment at the area county fairs and auditoriums. Before we provided this service most shows had no light show at all. We were the first many entertainers had seen at these events and they were very pleased at how this added to their performance.
In 1971we went into Sound Business with the same wonderful response. We went from Pittsley Lighting Service to Pittsley Lighting & Sound. Since then we have provided quality professional Services to thousands of Entertainers and Dignitaries. President Bush, President Nixon, Vice President Mondale, Jesse Jackson, Jerry Lee Lewis, Steve Martin, Henry Mancini, Crystal Gayle, Johnny Cash, Dolly Parton, AC/DC, Reo Speedwagon, Cheap Trick, Maynard Ferguson, Tanya Tucker, and many thousands more have enjoyed our professional, quality services.
During the early 1970's there was the beginnings of the "Modern DJ", as known to millions today. Pittsley DJ Services began just before the time "Disco" began. We were once again, on the new beginnings of a revolution in the entertainment industry. Entertainment for the country would never be the same again.
Technology had made the quality of the music, by a DJ, as good, and most of the time better than most bands. DJ's were able to change their style, their selections, over night. The band was limited by their singers, their instrumentation, the availability of all of their members on a given night, harmony's, rehearsals, the ability to sound something like the songs people know, etc... These are just a few of the ways we can more than compete with bands. Take with that the lack of the need for breaks, the fact that I personally have seen many band members getting very drunk on these breaks, which get longer and longer the songs sound worse and worse and, well you get the idea.
In the past few years we have decided to expand our coverage area. We have very wonderful DJs that are better than any I have seen. We had done only minimal advertising and had grown mostly by word of mouth. We have grown and become largest DJ Service in the area .
